Alta Verapaz – Guatemala
Single Origin | Grade SHB
Found within the remote and relatively difficult to access region of Alta Verapaz, this Bourbon varietal thrives in the very wet and lush rainforests of Guatemala. Due to this climate, the farmers must take extra care during the coffee drying process.

Guatemalan coffees can possess a large range of flavors and aromatics. Guatemala, like other Central American countries, utilizes an altitude grading system, for example, Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) indicates coffee grown at elevations above 4,300 ft.

After having been on the subscription list for about a year, I think this is my favorite roast so far. The tasting notes are spot on and in perfect balance, like the most complex of cocktails. The flavors are not so odd, though, and therefore is not overkill for everyday drinking or sharing. Keeping a bag of this always on hand while having a second on subscription rotation monthly is a great plan.
